Apartments were built in 1965. To begin with residents had oil heating for a long time, then local district heating, and after that they added geothermal heating and exhaust air heat recovery.

 

Heat from the room was escaping into the atmosphere.

Thermia Mega save 50 % of the heating costs

The energy from the warm indoor air is reused before it leaves the building through the ventilation system. Energy can be recovered by a special heat recovery unit, which increases brine temperature and heat pump performance.

For 50 years, we had been letting warm air escape.

It works for smaller houses as well as for larger buildings. In commercial properties where ventilation systems are in constant operation, exhaust air can provide as much as 50% of the building’s energy requirements. This system works perfectly with inverter-driven heat pumps like Thermia Mega where the heat pump can automatically adapt to any desired temperature in the exhaust air.
