- Versatile & adaptable
The Calibra RXT is a ground-source heat pump with inverter technology that offers you superior performance thanks to its unique technical solutions.
With an impressive seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP)* of 5,58 (at 35°C floor heating according to EN14825 and SCOP 5,4 in an average climate), the Calibra RXT helps you better manage your energy consumption.
*SCOP is a measure that describes how efficiently a heat pump works over a full year, including warm and cold periods. It indicates the relationship between the amount of energy produced and the amount consumed. The higher the value, the better the system.
For more than 100 years, Thermia has been developing tomorrow’s heating solutions. By choosing the refrigerant R290 for the Calibra RXT, we are challenging today’s technology and continuing to improve and develop products at the forefront of technology. The Calibra RXT uses the natural refrigerant R290 with a very low GWP* value of just 0,02
*GWP, Global Warming Potential, is the amount of heat a greenhouse gas traps in the atmosphere compared to the heat trapped by the same amount of CO2, which is the reference gas with a GWP of 1.
Calibra RXT is available in two output sizes:
in both single-phase (230V) and three-phase (400V) versions.
Calibra RXT features a built-in 184-liter hot water tank. Calibra RXT Duo is a version without a built-in hot water tank but which is designed to work with a separate hot water tank: this can be the MBH Legend 200 or MBH Legend 300, or any other comparable product. With a wide range of accessories, Calibra RXT can also provide cooling, heat a pool and work in combination with solar panels or additional heat sources.
Like any refrigerant, R290 is subject to special safety requirements. In the case of heat pump installed indoor using natural refrigerant R290, safety has been tested very thoroughly.
The Calibra RXT offers uncompromising safety thanks to its advanced built-in solution, and the heat pump can be installed in rooms of any size.
The hot water tank is equipped with our TWS (Tap Water Stratification) technology, which means that hot water is produced fast and at high temperature. Because the hot water is diluted to tap water temperature, the volume of usable hot water is considerably higher due to the high temperature.
Inverter and TWS technology make the Calibra RXT one of the fastest and best producers of hot water in its segment: 293 litres of domestic hot water at 40°C.
Its innovative mechanical design makes Calibra RXT one of the quietest heat pumps on the market. Operational sound levels for the Calibra RXT 7 model vary from 37 dB(A) up to 44 dB(A), depending on compressor speed (according to EN12102 and EN ISO 3741).
The controller coordinates and controls the heating system. Thermia heat pumps work with complete precision to give your home the best possible indoor climate at the lowest possible cost. Our controller is very easy to use.
The system uses an algorithm that ensures the lowest possible running cost while maintaining the desired indoor temperature.
New features:
The new controller in the inverter heat pump boasts a color touchscreen display and user-friendly icons that are easy to understand.
The Themia Calibra RXT ground source heat pump features the Thermia-developed inverter technology, which controls the compressor and constantly adjusts the heat load according to current heat demand.
On top of this, the Thermia Optimum technology monitors your system and adjusts performance accordingly. Speed-controlled Class-A circulation pumps guarantee that daily operation is automatically adjusted according to the conditions and your requirements. Thus, you never use more energy than needed, keeping your energy bills to a minimum without lifting a finger.
The Calibra RXT controller allows you to connect a number of heat pumps to deliver much higher capacity (max. 15 units). It enables you to benefit from the cascading option: cascade connected pumps start one after the other depending on energy need, thus ensuring minimum energy consumption regardless of the output.
A cascaded heat pump system allows more than one heat pump unit to work at the same time to meet a property’s heating and hot water requirements. Separate heat pump units can be used for different tasks (i.e. one for heating, another for hot water), or they can share the property’s heating and hot water demand between them.
The heat pump provides heat during the winter, while in the summer the process can be simply reversed. The heat pump collects heat from the house and deposits it into the ground borehole to provide cooling. This process works much better than traditional air conditioning. The Calibra RXT, enhanced by an optional accessory can both heat your home and cool it in the summer.
The Calibra RXT can easily be supplemented to heat your pool, all year round. In this way, you can enjoy your pool in all seasons while substantially reducing the cost of heating it.
The Thermia Online app enables you to check that your heating system is working properly, reduce the temperature when you are on holiday, or receive a notification if anything unexpected comes up. Our online system provides installers with comprehensive diagnostics data and also enables them to respond promptly to notifications or access a live feed on system performance.
The built-in online function is part of the intelligent control system. The Thermia Online app is available for both Android and iPhone.
Most common European heating systems are water-based, with heat being distributed via radiators or underfloor heating. The output temperature of the water distribution system is usually 30-35°C for floor heating and 45-55°C for radiators. Thermia heat pumps offer a renewable energy system, whether for new-builds or refurbishments and regardless of the temperature required in the heating system.
Thermia heat pumps are designed, tested and manufactured in one of the harshest climates in Europe. Swedish winters can be extreme. February is usually the coldest month, with temperatures dropping as low as -30°C or even lower in the north and heating is essential from September to May. The Calibra RXT is built on 50 years of experience in developing and supplying heat pumps.
Natural refrigerants: the future of heating and cooling
Here at Thermia, we are at the forefront of technological solutions that use natural refrigerants to help eliminate F-gases.
This is part of our contribution towards Europe’s commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
