Smart Price is an additional service from Thermia Online, designed to lower your heating costs. It plans and adjusts your heat pump’s energy usage for both heating and hot water based on the hourly price from the electricity exchange Nord Pool. When electricity prices are low, Smart Price will increase your heat pump’s heating for the house and hot water slightly, and then reduce heating when electricity prices are higher. In this way, part of your electricity consumption can be shifted from times with a high hourly price to times when the electricity price is lower (and the availability of electricity is better).
* The following heat pump models support the Smart Price service: Atlas/Atlas Duo, Calibra/Calibra Duo/Calibra Eco/Calibra Eco Duo/Calibra Cool, Calibra Eco Cool, Diplomat Inverter/Diplomat Duo Inverter/Diplomat Inverter Mini, Athena, Mega
To activate hourly price control, your heat pump must be connected to Thermia’s Online services using the Thermia Online app, available for download from app stores. Go to the SMART tab in Thermia Online and follow the instructions.
Your heat pump needs to have (at least) the Genesis 13.00 software installed, and it must be installed, and registered online.
You also need to have an hourly price-based agreement with your electricity supplier (not to be confused with a variable monthly electricity price) for you to benefit financially from Smart Price’s hourly price control of your heat pump.
Before you activate the service, there are a few things to consider. For the service to function effectively, it’s essential to have the correct settings for both the heat pump and heating system. To help you with this, we have produced a pdf that you can read here, which contains important information and frequently asked questions about everything from hourly rate management to important settings.
It may seem obvious, but another simple and effective way to save energy is to slightly reduce the indoor temperature. Even a small change can significantly impact total energy consumption and it’s surprising how many homes are warmer than they need to be without reducing any comfort. This can be done easily by adjusting the setting +/- degrees on the first page of the heat pump’s display or via the Online service, whether or not Smart Price is activated.
